ABSTRACT

In order to improve the economic benefits of enterprises under continuing influence of COVID-19, the technological innovation effect of industrial chain under the ‘double cycle' pattern in the post epidemic era is studied in this paper. The fractional planning and integral planning functions of the industrial chain are obtained by constructing the CCR model, and the BCC model calculation of the innovation effect of the enterprise industrial chain is realised by the Chames-Cooper transformation. The data efficiency value of technological innovation effect of industrial chain under the ‘double cycle' pattern is obtained via the SBM network model for analysis on the technological innovation effect of industrial chain. The experimental results show that the effect of industrial chain technological innovation is analysed from the aspects of main business income and the profit margin of enterprises extending the industrial chain and connecting the industrial chain. The highest profit margin after connecting the industrial chain technological innovation is 34.2%, which proves that technological innovation can improve the economic benefits of enterprises. ABSTRACT

With the rapid development of China's new energy industry, the consumption demand for copper resources is increasing. As a key raw material, copper resources are becoming increasingly important. Taking the demand for copper commodities in China's new energy development as the research background and the international trade environment and pattern of copper supply as the research perspective, this paper makes an overall assessment of the commodity supply risk of China's copper industrial chain from 2010 to 2021 using the complex network and the newly established three-dimensional risk assessment model and finally reaches the following conclusions. The supply risk of commodities in China's copper industrial chain has been rising continuously since 2019 after experiencing fluctuating development in the early stage and a continuous decline in recent years, and there may be a trend of continuing to rise. The supply risk of China's copper industrial chain was gradually reduced from upstream to midstream and downstream, and the supply risk of copper smelting was more severe. The disruption potential risk of China's copper industrial chain was relatively low, and the international import market structure of copper commodities was relatively reasonable. The supply risk characteristics of each link in China's copper industrial chain were different. Due to the influence of import dependence, the copper mining industry had a high risk of trade exposure. However, the smelting and copper processing industries had certain limitations in production management, operation management and technology research and development, and their ability to withstand risks was weak. In addition, the impact of the domestic COVID-19 epidemic ha caused a high industrial chain vulnerability risk. © 2023 Elsevier Ltd

ABSTRACT

The outbreak of Covid-19 in specific areas characterized with global industrial chain reconstruction, grasps the epidemic prevention and control, while the growth of economics is the key point of government management in the post-epidemic time scale. In the last two years, various industries were affected by the outbreak of the new champions league experience "determination to keep factories and workers idle - to return to work and production - not to return to work and production”, which significantly changes the industrial performances. Both industry change and the development of the pattern of economic evaluation are equally important. This study used media platform composite index and edge parallel coordinates visualization method of combining the bundle, selected in 2020 and 2021, 11 industry information volume in 7 platform, through the medium of agenda building industry change from comparative analysis of two developing and development situation. This paper indicated that the major factors influencing the change of media attention in the course of the epidemic were the degree of social risk and the basic needs of the public. The epidemic had a great impact on the development of all industries, and the continuous improvement of the industry's ability to deal with major risks became the main trend of future development. © 2022 SPIE.

ABSTRACT

In the era of globalization, industries of critical metals are organized through the global supply chain. However, the global supply chains have been disrupted since 2020 by the outbreak of COVID-19 and a series of geopolitical crises. To better address the supply chain challenges of critical metals, a review is needed about the sources, propagation, and responses of the supply chain risks. Firstly, this review provides an overview about the research progress in identifying the risk sources and assessing the risks and then proposes a new supply chain framework, categorizing relevant risk factors into upstream risks, middle-stream risks, downstream risks, and general risks, for risk analysis of critical metals. Secondly, this review offers a comprehensive understanding about how the risks propagate horizontally and vertically. Finally, responses such as supply diversification, stockpiling, material substitution, recycling and circular economy strategy, price volatility hedging, and supply chain traceability are reviewed. This survey features the supply chain perspective, overviews on network-based studies, and affirms the urgency and need for further studies on supply chain risks and resilience, which may contribute to a smooth clean energy transition.

ABSTRACT

For regions that are deeply integrated into the global economy, the question of how to remain competitive and resilient in times of uncertainty is a key concern. While strategic coupling is a useful concept for understanding local-global economic dynamics, the idea that a region can simultaneously couple into multiple production networks organised at different spatial scales and that regional actors can increase their autonomy by creatively combining different coupling scenarios has been little explored. This paper explores how regional institutional innovations can facilitate such multiple couplings. We focus on the industrial chain chief model in China's Zhejiang province, which emerged against the backdrop of the U.S.-China trade war and the COVID-19 pandemic. We argue that this institutional innovation offers a different way of thinking for regions that have long been exposed to the influence of globalisation, and that it increases the agency of local actors in global production networks.

ABSTRACT

After the outbreak of COVID-19 in 2020, the industrial supply chain in different industries has exposed a series of problems. The Party Central Committee clearly pointed out that we should improve the stability and competitiveness of the industrial supply chain. The upstream and downstream automobile industry has a long industry chain with a complex supply system, and it has both shortcomings and advantages. In order to ensure the stability of the supply chain of China's automobile industry, analyze the bottlenecks of the industry and put forward corresponding solutions, this paper used big data to establish a supply chain database of independent brand automobile as a new analysis tool, to enhance the analysis accuracy, specify the measures and analyze the key links of China's automobile industry being controlled by others through the network diagram and risk rating table. Next, it is suggested to establish and improve the supply chain database of the whole automobile industry as soon as possible, improve the data collection and inter departmental coordination mechanism, and accelerate the establishment of a 'dual circulation' development pattern of a new system of automobile industry development in which domestic economic cycle plays a leading role while international economic cycle remains its extension and supplement. © 2021 IEEE.

ABSTRACT

The fluctuation of energy prices has a great impact on the economy, making it essential to analyze the risk transmission among energy commodities. In this paper, we use the minimum spanning tree (MST) approach and connectedness method to study the risk transmission among energy futures in China. Eleven commodities, including two globally traded crude oil, are considered. Four major results are obtained. First, MST analysis provides evidence of industry clustering. Second, the risk transmission is generally from the petrochemical sector to the coal sector;while the risk transmission in each sector mainly spills from upstream to the downstream products. Third, “methanol - polyethylene” bridges the coal sector and petrochemical sector, through which the link between the two sectors has been strengthened since the outbreak of COVID-19. Fourth, the systemic risk of the energy market has increased, and several commodities have experienced a role reversal in the network since the pandemic began, especially in the petrochemical sector.
